It's happening—Disney is breaking ground on its seventh iconic theme park, this time in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This partnership with Miral, Abu Dhabi's top creator of immersive destinations, promises a world-class, waterfront resort on Yas Island, a renowned hub for entertainment and leisure. The new park aims to blend Disney's beloved stories and characters with the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of Abu Dhabi, creating a unique experience for visitors from across the globe.
Yas Island already hosts several theme parks, so it’s exciting to wonder what Disney might bring in terms of new intellectual property. Led by Disney Imagineers, the resort will feature signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining, and retail experiences, with storytelling celebrating both Disney traditions and the futuristic essence of Abu Dhabi.
While Disney hasn’t confirmed specific themes or attractions, a teaser video hints at the inclusion of familiar Disney IPs like "The Lion King," "Avatar," "Iron Man," and "Frozen," among others. Rides such as the Millennium Falcon, TRON Lightcycles, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind could also be in the mix.
