This is a highly controversial subject. We ask everyone to be polite when discussing and labeling others.

The Disability Access Service (DAS) is used to people who find it hard to wait in long lines because of a disability. It lets you get time to come back and enjoy rides, just like if you were waiting in line, but you can have fun doing other things in the park instead. Recently, Disney made some changes. Now, DAS is specifically for people with developmental disabilities like autism. They've also made it possible to sign up for DAS longer in advance, up to 120 days before your visit, but now you can only have up to 4 people in your group.

DAS was never meant for physical issues - as now all Disney queues are mobility accessible.

How to Register for DAS at Walt Disney World (and save time doing it before your trip!)

  • Registration is available via live video chat (even if you go to the park, you will speak to someone virtually.)
  • You can speak with a Cast Member via live video chat to determine eligibility as soon as 30 days before a park visit.
  • Guests visiting through May 19 may see a theme park Guest Relation location to speak with a Cast Member. In-person registration will no longer be available at theme park Guest Relations locations starting May 20, 2024.
  • If DAS is provided after a conversation with a Cast Member to determine eligibility, the Guest with a disability (or a parent/guardian) will participate in the registration process. This requires a photo of the DAS-registered guest to be taken.
  • DAS registration maximum party size is the registered DAS Guest and up to 3 additional party members, for four people or immediate family only.
  • DAS is valid for up to 120 days, up from 60 days previously. Once the service has elapsed, Guests will need to re-register.
  • For guests visiting now through May 19, 2024, DAS is valid for up to 30 days.
  • The live chat is offered in English only.
For folks who have other concerns, they will be introducing a "return to the queue" - which Disney has not shared yet. I'm concerned for those who have issues that require them to leave; streaming upriver in a queue is far from easy.

This is going to a hot topic, as Universal requires a form to be filled out by your provider - but they are currently be sued over this practice.
