Disney’s Hollywood Studios is gearing up to unveil TWO brand-new shows! After much anticipation, Disney has finally revealed the opening dates. Say goodbye to Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy and Voyage of the Little Mermaid as they make way for exciting new productions.
The Cars-themed Lightning McQueen show closed on October 8, 2024, to make room for the upcoming Villains show, debuting on May 27, 2025. Meanwhile, the Voyage of the Little Mermaid has also made its exit but will be replaced by The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure, premiering the same day.
Elsewhere in the park, multiple closures are underway. Each promises new magic upon reopening—whether it’s Big Thunder Mountain Railway bringing about new thrills in 2026 or refreshing spaces like Test Track and various Disney World hotels.
