The movie's synopsis reads: "Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, *Mufasa: The Lion King* recruits Rafiki to unfold the legend of Mufasa to young Kiara, Simba and Nala’s daughter, with Timon and Pumbaa’s usual antics. Told through past memories, the tale features Mufasa as an orphaned cub, finding friendship with Taka—the royal bloodline’s heir. Their fortuitous meeting sparks a grand journey among a unique group of characters seeking their destiny, facing trials along the way."
Starring Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Tiffany Boone, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Blue Ivy Carter, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, the film features new tracks from Lin-Manuel Miranda.
