Planning a cruise to Mexico soon? You might need to reassess your budget!

There's an undeniable thrill in planning a getaway, especially for those who love cruises for providing a chance to explore multiple locales in one journey. While cruises often bundle many dining, activities, and entertainment expenses, recent changes may affect your budget plans.

Starting July 1st, a new charge will apply to all passengers visiting Mexican ports, initially set at $42 but adjusted to $5 after negotiations. This fee will gradually rise over the coming years, settling at $21 per person by 2028. These adjustments will impact favorite ports like Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta.

Additionally, Hawaii will introduce a fee similar to hotel taxes, adding 11 percent on cruise cabins. Keep an eye out for more updates that could influence your future travels.

Have you cruised to Mexico or planning a trip? What are your thoughts on these new fees? We'd love to hear your opinions!
