Universal Orlando's upcoming theme park, Epic Universe, is nearing its grand opening! Although the official opening is set for May 22, 2025, park previews are now available for Team Members and their guests, allowing us to enjoy a sneak peek. We speculated about a unique locker system for certain attractions, and it's confirmed—it's unlike what we're used to at other Universal parks.
Although we got an early glimpse, photos and videos are not allowed during previews. However, we'll revisit before the opening to capture and share the experience, so stay tuned!
Epic Universe boasts five immersive themed lands including Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
During our preview, we encountered a unique locker process at Celestial Park's Stardust Racers. Here, lockers utilize facial recognition (with a ticket scan as an option). After storing items, riders pass through a metal detector before boarding. The experience was smooth and simple, with the system confirming your face to reopen your locker after the ride.
This advanced technology is featured throughout the park, including entry via facial recognition without needing to scan tickets. We're eager to return and explore more of Epic Universe, so keep an eye out for future updates!
I'm curious, are you excited for Epic Universe's upcoming attractions and innovative systems? Share your thoughts!
