CONFIRMED: 3 Major runDisney Announcements for 2027

Get ready, get set, go! Well, not just yet, because we’re actually about to look ahead to the future. We’re talking about the year 2027, which might seem like it’s really far away, but honestly, you know it will be here before you know it.

That means you’ll soon have some all new runDisney events to attend in Disney World, and if you love to run, you’ll want to pay attention to announcements. Well, so far, we’ve had three BIG announcements for runDisney in 2027, and we’re rounding those up so you can stay updated.

2027 Races Announced​

In early 2026, Disney World released information about the 2026-2027 runDisney season, meaning that we finally got dates for the first races that will occur in 2027.


Springtime Surprise 2026


That includes the following three races:

• 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (January 6th-10th, 2027 with General Public registration on March 17th)
• 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (February 25th-March 1st, 2027 with General Public registration on June 2nd)
• 2027 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend (April 15th-18th, 2027 with General Public registration on July 7th)

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Theme​

Shortly after those new events were announced, Disney also teased the theme for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. The theme for this event is usually focused on Mickey and his friends, and it looks like Donald might just be #1 to be the star of this event.

We also noticed that the style of the video was like the Mickey shorts we love so much, so that might be part of the concept for the marathon in January 2027.

Princess Half Marathon Themes​

Disney also revealed the themes for the 2027 Princess Half Marathon races. The 5K is themed to Princess Tiana, the 10K is themed to Snow White, and the Half Marathon is themed to Princess Jasmine. For those who participate in all three races, the Disney Princess Fairy Tale Challenge is themed to Ariel.

We can also probably assume that these are the princesses who will be on the medals for each race, too.
