Disney Experiences has made an appearance at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, an annual festival celebrating key innovations in technology, film, culture, and music. Running from March 7th to March 15th, Disney's panel on "The Future of World-Building at Disney" got a surprise boost from none other than Robert Downey Jr.! His unexpected entrance alongside Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro and Co-Chairman Alan Bergman was met with gasps of excitement.
As RDJ took to the stage, he praised Disney Imagineers for their creativity, humorously dubbing them "the living embodiment of the Stark Enterprises mission statement." Having had a hand in crafting an attraction at Avengers Campus, RDJ’s involvement certainly adds a unique touch. He cheekily suggested which Avengers could be featured in the Stark Flight Lab based on their merit... or how quickly they’d answer his FaceTime calls!
Stark Flight Lab, a new attraction under development, will feature guests in "gyro-kinetic pods" and include high-speed movements similar to Iron Man's, adding an authentic Avenger feel. Disney's Bruce Vaughn emphasized that the tech is pivotal to the story, flipping the usual theme park approach on its head. As Disney unrolls more exciting updates, it’s clear that innovation is at the forefront.
