Universal's massive investment in Epic Universe and Disney's $60 billion expansion highlight the confidence these companies have in their Orlando theme parks. Now, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is joining the excitement with plans to invest $40 million in new park projects and to expand Adventure Island's water park.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay's president, Jeff Davis, shared that this investment will improve infrastructure, operations, staff recruiting, and aesthetics with enhancements like more gardens and plant life. Excitingly, new animal arrivals are expected, including the reimagined meerkat habitat opening this summer.
A part of this investment will focus on the Wild Oasis at the Jungala attraction, set to open in May. Marketed as North America's most immersive, kid-friendly adventure realm, it will feature capybaras, squirrel monkeys, tropical birds, and more, alongside thrilling activities such as a 35-foot drop tower and an interactive splash pad. These additions promise to bring a wealth of new experiences for families.
Busch Gardens will also enhance animal habitats, adding features like a climbing structure for chimpanzees, a giraffe barn, and improved accessibility for senior Asian elephants.
Furthermore, the upcoming Adventure Island addition, Castaway Falls, will feature a multilevel play and splash area. More news on thrills and interactive events is eagerly anticipated!
