Universal Studios isn't only wrapping up its new Epic Universe park at Universal Orlando; it's also expanding its footprint nationwide. They're adding a year-round horror experience in Las Vegas and have started work on a kid-friendly theme park in Frisco, Texas, set to open in 2026.

The upcoming Universal Kids Resort is tailored for families with young kids, featuring areas themed around popular franchises such as Shrek, Puss in Boots, Trolls, Gabby’s Dollhouse, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, and Jurassic World. Expected to open in 2026, the park promises unique attractions like a Shrek-themed playground, a sea adventure with SpongeBob and friends, and a vibrant Trolls music festival.

The Minions will bring watery chaos, while visitors can explore dinosaurs of Jurassic World interactively. Other highlights include a Puss in Boots kitty adoption drive with fun games and rides, and a sensory garden for relaxation.

At the heart of the resort, there will be interactive play areas and a central hub, including a retail space starring Gabby’s Dollhouse characters. Plus, a 300-room hotel will serve as the resort's entryway.
