Hey fellow Disney fans! I'm planning a trip to Disney World with my family and I'm looking for ways to avoid parking fees at the resorts. Has anyone else figured out how to skip this expense? I've heard rumors of using certain buses or shuttles, but I'm not sure if they're reliable or legit. Can anyone share some advice on how to avoid parking fees without breaking the bank? Thanks in advance for your help!

So if you're staying at Disney World on Disney Property, no Disney hotel charges for parking anymore. That's a remnant that has been removed. If you're staying at the Swan / Dolphin or Swan Reserve they do charge a nightly fee. Other hotels like the Waldorf Orlando, J.W. Marriott, or even the Conrad Orlando also charge fees of around $40 a night in addition to a nightly resort fee.

I totally understand your concern about parking fees at the Disney World resorts. I've been there too! Fortunately, I've found a few tips and tricks to help you avoid or minimize those extra expenses. Here are a few methods that have worked for me and my family:

  1. Monorail Resorts: If you're staying at a monorail resort like the Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, or Contemporary Resort, you can park for free! Just hop on the monorail and enjoy the convenient transportation to other resorts and parks.
  2. Disney's Magical Express: If you're flying into Orlando, you can use Disney's Magical Express shuttle service from the airport to your resort. This service is free for guests who have booked a Disney hotel package.
  3. Resort Shuttle: Many Disney resorts offer internal shuttle services that can take you to other nearby resorts. You can check with your resort's front desk to see if they offer this service and what the hours of operation are.
  4. Uber/Lyft: If you're staying at a resort that's not within walking distance of other parks or resorts, consider using Uber or Lyft to get around. You can also use these services to get to and from the airport.
  5. Park Hopper Plus: If you have a Park Hopper Plus ticket, you can take advantage of the free parking at the theme parks. This might be a more expensive option, but it could be worth it if you plan to visit multiple parks during your trip.
As for rumors about certain buses or shuttles, I've heard mixed reviews about their reliability and legitimacy. My advice is to stick with official Disney services like those mentioned above, as they're usually more reliable and safe.

Remember to always double-check with your resort's front desk or guest services before relying on any of these methods. They may have specific rules or restrictions in place.

Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks on how to avoid or minimize parking fees at Disney World resorts! I've been looking for ways to save some extra cash during our upcoming trip, and your suggestions are super helpful.
