This news isn't something we're thrilled about.

Planning a trip to Disney World means factoring in your budget, deciding which restaurants are worth visiting, and marking your must-do attractions. It's quite a bit of planning, especially as things evolve, but this recent change is a hit to your budget.

Disney World is known for being expensive. With so many tempting snacks and merchandise, it's easy to overshoot your budget. We aim to plan our expenses well before hitting the parks to enjoy ourselves without feeling the pinch afterward.

Lightning Lanes are a key financial consideration! They're optional but offer an upgraded experience by letting you bypass many lines. This system, which started in July 2024, is divided into 3 categories: Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass.

The Multi Pass provides access to 3 guaranteed lines daily, while the Single Pass lets you skip the line at each park's top ride once. The Premier Pass, the priciest, allows skipping every line once per day in a selected park. These aren't necessities, but they sure add convenience.

If you plan to splurge, you should know when prices change. Beginning on March 3rd, 2025, Lightning Lane Premier Pass will cost even more.

Skipping every line without needing reservations will set you back $449 at Magic Kingdom, $249 at EPCOT, $349 at Hollywood Studios, and $199 at Animal Kingdom - per person, per park, per day. The day before the price increase, existing prices are slightly lower.

Animal Kingdom’s Multi Pass price will rise by $10 on March 3rd, reaching $29 per person.

The Multi Pass allows pre-booking of 3 Lightning Lanes. While more can be booked throughout the day, there's no guarantee outside the initial 3.

Traditionally, we don't recommend the Multi Pass for Animal Kingdom due to its limited ride choices. The park is currently evolving, with closures and new attractions on the horizon, including a Tropical Americas-themed land and a new Zootopia show.

DinoLand is set to become Pueblo Esperanza, nearby a Zootopia show launches. The new land should open in 2027, with the show arriving in Winter 2025.

It's never fun to witness price hikes at Disney World, yet they're understandable with Spring Break around. Share your thoughts! Do you think the convenience justifies the cost of Lightning Lanes?
