A new closure has been announced for a Disney World hotel location.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is closing down some merchandise spots for refurbishment, starting this week, expected to last until May 2025. This follows a trend of recent closures, including several attractions and hotel pools that shut down in January.

The Screen Door General Store at the BoardWalk Inn is now closed for an estimated 6-7 weeks before moving to Character Carnival.

Magic Kingdom is also closing several attractions: the Hall of Presidents will be closed until 2025, and Astro Orbiter is expected to reopen in summer 2025. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will remain closed until 2026 for updates. The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade has permanently closed to make way for a new Disney Vacation Club lounge.

Among the Disney parks, EPCOT has shuttered the Gran Fiesta Tour for refurbishment until March 15th, and Test Track is undergoing a major makeover, reopening in late summer 2025.

In Hollywood Studios, the Cars-themed Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has permanently closed, with a new Villains show debuting in summer 2025. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is also closed, with a fully reimagined theatrical production opening in summer 2025.

Animal Kingdom is experiencing changes with the upcoming transformation of DinoLand, U.S.A. into Pueblo Esperanza, themed to the Tropical Americas.

With these numerous closures, visitors might have mixed feelings. As Disney prepares these updates, what are your thoughts on how they'll affect your future trips? Drop your opinions below!
