It was a bittersweet moment for Muppets fans as we said farewell to Muppets Courtyard in Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday.
PizzeRizzo and Muppet*Vision 3D were the last attractions in the Grand Avenue area to close, signaling the end of an era. We rushed over this morning to see the transformations first-hand, and it truly marked a significant change.
When we grabbed a park map, the changes were evident—Grand Avenue remains, but the Muppets Courtyard has vanished, replaced by green spaces.
Seeing the area blocked off by shrubs was a hard-hitting reality check, even though we knew it was coming. The visibility into the courtyard is still quite good, but we're sure more significant walls will soon obscure the view as Disney initiates its next project.
Construction activity already appears to be underway towards the land's back. The ongoing changes were expected as other construction walls were erected around Mama Melrose's (which has already shut down).
Despite the loss, the Muppets will move to a new home at the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. The area will be transformed into the exciting Monsters, INC. Land, complete with new dining locations, merchandise spots, and Disney's first suspended coaster!
What are your thoughts on this change? Excited about the new addition, or will you miss the classic Muppets spot? Share your thoughts!
