Visiting Disney World in September? Heads up—several rides will be closed for refurbishment or are permanently closing to make way for exciting new adventures. Knowing which rides will be unavailable can help you plan your visit and maybe even lead you to uncover some new favorites!
**Magic Kingdom Closures:**
1. **The Boneyard at Animal Kingdom** will close September 2, 2025. Look forward to a new area inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones! Kids can still enjoy the Mission: SPACE play zone at EPCOT or the Casey Jr. Splash ’n’ Soak Station.
2. **Spaceship Earth at EPCOT** closed for refurbishments until later in 2025. Try "Living with the Land" or check out the Food & Wine Festival while visiting!
3. **Disney Jr. Play & Dance at Hollywood Studios** closes September 25, 2025. For little ones, head to Alien Swirling Saucers or enjoy a character breakfast at Hollywood & Vine.
4. **Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom** won't be available until 2026, but Seven Dwarfs Mine Train offers a similar thrill.
5. **Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be closed** until 2026. In the meantime, head over to Toy Story Mania for a fun shooter-style game.
6. **Tom Sawyer Island** is closing for good, making way for the Cars-themed Piston Peak land. For a bit of exploring, check out the Swiss Family Treehouse.
7. **Liberty Square Riverboat is permanently docked**, but you can enjoy scenic rides on the PeopleMover or Kilimanjaro Safaris instead.
8. **It’s Tough to Be a Bug!** is also closing, with a Zootopia-themed show taking its place at the Tree of Life Theater.
9. **Muppet*Vision 3D will be replaced** by a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. For that quirky humor, head to the Enchanted Tiki Room or Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom.
