Disney World is introducing a new Cars-themed land called Piston Peak at Magic Kingdom, and they’ve just released an exciting new map. This attraction will be located in Frontierland, taking inspiration from Pixar’s Cars and giving a nod to the wilderness with two exciting new rides, including an off-road racing experience.
We've uncovered some intriguing hidden details on the map that we can't wait to share with you!
The character Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore pays homage to the classic Disney park ranger, bringing a bit of nostalgia to the new area. The map intriguingly shows a water connection between Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Piston Peak, suggesting a unique integration with existing park features.
And here's something fun for Tom Sawyer Island fans: the new area will incorporate elements like a river and even some rainbow geysers originally envisioned for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Plus, for those of you who love a clever nod, the map includes a barrel bridge, snow-capped mountains, and even a sequoia tree reminiscent of Disneyland’s petrified tree.
Interestingly, it appears the boardwalk around the original Rivers of America will remain, helping manage crowd flow and providing a sneak route to beloved attractions like Big Thunder Mountain.
Disney has taken great care with Piston Peak’s design to seamlessly blend Cars into the Frontierland aesthetic, complete with Western-inspired details and wood accents.
As the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat are set to close on July 7th, now's your chance to enjoy these attractions before the exciting transformation begins.
